Project managementOverview
Float is a collaborative resource management software for real-time project planning and task scheduling.
The features include:
- An intuitive interface,
- Drag-and-drop features,
- Keyboard shortcuts,
- Reports,
- Analytics and editing tools
The planning feature in Float allows you to have a live view of your team’s schedule to make it easier to schedule projects, plan capacity, and assign work.
You can streamline your project management workflow, schedule tasks based on capacity and project needs, set due dates, and assign budgets.
You can add milestones, phases and link dependencies. Plan for scenarios with tentative tasks and placeholder roles, and sync with your project management tools for faster scheduling.
With the schedule feature in Float, you keep track of who is who, their billable rates, when they work, and from where making it easy to assign the most suitable people and project managers.
You can add time tracking to your team’s schedule to compare estimated vs. actual hours, which can help you monitor budget spending. This allows you to set a budget based on time or fees for future projects, forecast your capacity, and spend less.
If there are changes in your project you can make changes fast with bulk editing tools and notify your team when their schedule changes.
Your team can request time off and track their remaining leave balance using Float. You can also sync up local calendars to yours to import local public holidays, which you can also share with your team.
Float allows you to assign flexible permission to your team members ensuring that the correct access level is assigned to those that need to see, edit, and approve across the team. You can also add guest users to your schedule and create shareable links. For extra security, you can require secure sign-on, restrict domain log-ins, and meet compliance requirements.
With Float’s time tracking feature your team receives pre-filled timesheets based on their scheduled tasks, where they can log and edit their actual hours worked. They can log hours on the go with the Float mobile app and you can send reminders via Slack, email, and mobile when it is time to fill in the timesheets. You can also lock when timesheets can be submitted to keep reporting accurate. These timesheets allow you to invoice based on actual hours worked and you can send them directly to your finance tools.
Float integrates with various project management, calendars and productivity software such as Jira, Teamwork Projects, Xero Projects, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Slack and Zapier.
Float makes upgrades and adds new features to its software on a rolling basis, making sure that the software is as efficient as possible.
